Last updated: March 22, 2026

1. Our Intellectual Property

The following elements of CraicNews are the exclusive intellectual property of CraicNews and its operators, protected under Irish law, EU law, and applicable international treaties:

  • The website design, visual appearance, and overall layout
  • CSS styling, typography choices, and colour schemes
  • Branding, logos, and graphic elements
  • The trade name "CraicNews" and associated marks
  • The timed satirical reveal mechanism — the core service concept whereby articles initially appear authentic before revealing their satirical nature after a timed delay
  • All source code, including front-end and back-end implementations
  • The article generation workflow, prompt engineering, and AI integration architecture

No part of the website design, service concept, or underlying code may be reproduced, imitated, or used as the basis of a competing service without express written permission from CraicNews.

2. Reporting Copyright Infringement

CraicNews responds to notices of alleged copyright infringement under the Irish Copyright and Related Rights Act 2000 and the EU Digital Services Act (DSA). We also provide DMCA-compatible procedures as a courtesy for complainants based in the United States.

If you believe content on CraicNews infringes your copyright, submit a written notice to our designated contact listed in Section 5 below.

Your notice must include:

  • Identification of the copyrighted work you claim has been infringed.
  • The URL or specific location on CraicNews where the allegedly infringing content appears.
  • Your name, postal address, telephone number, and email address.
  • A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use of the material is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
  • A statement that the information in your notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are the copyright owner or are authorised to act on behalf of the owner.
  • Your physical or electronic signature.

We will acknowledge receipt of valid notices and aim to take appropriate action — which may include removing or disabling access to the allegedly infringing content — within a reasonable timeframe.

3. Counter-Notification

If you believe your content was removed or disabled in error, you may submit a counter-notification to the contact address listed in Section 5 below.

Your counter-notification must include:

  • Identification of the content that was removed and the location where it appeared before removal.
  • A statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief the content was removed or disabled as a result of mistake or misidentification.
  • Your name, address, and telephone number.
  • Your consent to the jurisdiction of the courts of Dublin, Ireland for any dispute arising from the counter-notification.
  • Your physical or electronic signature.

Upon receipt of a valid counter-notification, we may restore the removed content within 10–14 business days, unless the original complainant notifies us that they have sought a court order to restrain the activity.

4. Repeat Infringer Policy

In appropriate circumstances, CraicNews will terminate the accounts of users who are repeat infringers of intellectual property rights. We reserve the right to make this determination at our sole discretion, taking into account the nature and frequency of infringement, the outcome of any counter-notification process, and the overall impact on the platform and rightsholders.
